Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club Won by 6 runs

Match report Wanstead B won their first Adult Div 1 game this weekend v Loughton A.
As with the usual one might add comical batting at times, the B team put up a total of 98 ao. A reasonable total, however still less than the total they put up against Wanstead's A team two weeks earlier and lost.Some excellent batting from Waseem, Mehad and Inquy the B team knew they had a chance with their bowling attack to win.
Anyway, with the total posted, the B's stand in keeper M Fayyaz Khan...yes you did read that right, the great Fizzer took the gloves for the youngsters and became the oldest keeper in the Div. That is until he handed over the gloves to Mehad Khan (who had bowled his allotted 3 over)when Fayyaz became the oldest spinner in the division.
In between the gloves handing over ceremony that took place, Wanstead B's bowling attack bowling attack of Mehad, Jack, Finlay, Inquy and of course Fayyaz bowled well, but Loughton's batting was knocking off the total by finding the wall and quick runs where approaching the Wanstead total.
With a lot of sledging from the boundary, (the Wanstead A team had arrived for their fixture v South Woodford) the bowlers, fielders and Keeper were receiving plenty of 'advice' they didn't really need. Mehad, Jack and Inquy bowled with aggression that put the Loughton batsman under a lot of pressure, which Finlay took advantage of and took 3 wickets with some tight bowling and excellent catching.
With the wickets falling and the score board showing the Loughton were within sight of the winning line, some silly running, but excellent fielding and two excellent run out's, (the winning ro coming from...you've guest right, Fayyaz)the Wanstead B team knocked over Loughton for 92 runs and their inaugural win.
So now they sit (after their second fixture) on 16 points, mid table, but above the Wanstead A team who lost their match v South Woodford and are 1 point behind. How long this position remains for, only time and matches can tell. But for the next two weeks, the B team are looking better than the A team.
