Match report A good day for the Herons as they look to build on a dominant win over Chelmsford last weekend.

Batting first, the innings saw steady progress with Joseph Plamer and Bilal Patel putting on an 87 run partnership which allowed for Ismael Dar to demonstrate some powerful batting skills, who top scored with a quick fire 62. Wanstead ended on 249-8 with James Fitzgerald failing to follow up with his good innings in the nets, meaning wanstead fell short of the team target, 250.

In reply and with thunder and lightening all around, wanstead bowlers looked to get through 20 overs whilst keeping a positive Southend side under 110 target. Ismael following up his season best know with similar impressive, tight bowling as Southend managed just 60 of 20 overs with is males figures of 9-1-22-3. Fitzy improved on his batting with figures of 6-0-16-1 with Jahansher picking up 3 wickets also.

Overall, another positive step as the Herons aim to put pressure on top spot, Chelmsford. They are now 13 points behind.
