Match report And so to the final... Wanstead (aka England!) against the best of the Rest - players picked from the other 5 teams. It was anticipated that this could be a really tough match.

The Rest won the toss and, unsurprisingly, chose to bat. After a brisk start, the first 3 batters took their score to 104 in the 15th over. Sensing perhaps that this was under par, the following batters started to play more aggressively and wickets fell steadily until the total reached a modest 148 for 7.

Wanstead replied with their best batting performance of the competition. Hassan (69 off 45) and Naail (32 off 26) got the innings off to a sound start before Bilal (24 off 17) and an unusually muted 2 from Ismail saw Wanstead home with 151 for 2 in the 17th over.

Many awards followed. For his 3 wickets as a 15 year old playing against 25 year olds, Brandon was deservedly named Man of the Match. Adam was named Wanstead's Man of the series, Nabeel was Bowler of the series and Bilal Batsman of the series. An excellent effort by all concerned, not least by Fayyaz who set this up and Hassan for his excellent captaincy. Very well done!
