Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club - Bradley & Co Monthly Awards 2024

Bradley & Co - August Update
Hi Everyone,

As we approach the final stretch of the season, excitement is building with just one league game remaining and plenty still to play for across the teams. A special mention goes to Haaris Usman, whose outstanding 133 not out for the 1st XI against Buckhurst Hill has helped keep us in second place in the league. The 2nd XI are also holding firm in second spot, sitting just 3 points behind the leaders after a fantastic win against Harold Wood. Meanwhile, the 3rd XI are fighting hard in a relegation battle, and we know they will give it everything they’ve got to stay up. On a brighter note, the 1st XI have reached the Essex League Cup Final, which will take place on Saturday 14th September against Hornchurch. We wish the team the best of luck for the big game!

Unfortunately, I was unable to present the Bradley Awards for August as planned, but they have been rescheduled for later this month. I’ll be sure to provide a full update with photos and achievements in my next update. Finally, a huge congratulations to the Under 16s, who have been crowned Essex Champions, and to the Ladies’ 2nd XI, now confirmed as Essex League Champions!

See you all next month with more exciting updates.
Regards,
Tony Richardson - Sponsorship Director @ Bradley & Co
Bradley & Co - July Awards
Hi Everyone. Hope we are all well. At least we managed to get three weeks' cricket in this month, with a mixed bag of results. The 1st XI stay in 2nd position in the Essex Premier League while the 2nd XI remain top, all be it by one point in their respective League. Our Ladies 2nd XI are also top of their League. It’s pleasing to see our Juniors flourishing as they gain more experience. The downside of the month was our 1st XI, having reached the quarter finals of the National Cup again, succumbed to local rivals Brentwood. On a brighter note they have reached the Semi Finals of the Essex League Cup and play Woodford Wells later in the month. Our photos show our Bradley Awards being presented on the day we hosted the famous MCC during cricket week and Bradley & Co's summer bash. I will see you all next month as the Season draws to close. Regards to All. Tony Richardson
Awards Winners for July are:
Senior Men - Nabeel Aziz
Senior Women - Victoria Derbyshire
Junior Boys - Sulayman Tahir
Junior Girls - Anjali Mistry
Non-Playing Award - Pauline Osborn

Bradley & Co - June Awards
A limited report this month I’m afraid. Our Bradley presentation evening had to be postponed . The waders are back out of the cupboard.
However, Wanstead CC has produced some exciting results recently, notably our 1st X1 who travelled to Peterborough in the last 32 of the National Cup and won by 8 wickets. Two great innings by Hassan Hameed (100 not out) and Robin Das (76) saw us over the line. We were then rewarded with a home tie against Wimbledon in the last 16.  With a rain affected match and a lot of hard work by so many people, the team pulled off a stunning victory, winning by 68 runs. Into the last 8, opposition unknown at the moment. The 1st X1 also, in the only game played in the Essex Premier League on that day, won comfortably against local rivals Chingford, winning by 9 wickets and going top of the Premiership. They have also made it through to Finals day at Billericay on Sunday 14th July in the Essex T20 competition.
The 2nd X1 remain top of their respective league.
Hopefully the waders can go back into the cupboard soon.

Update The bad weather and cancelled presentation evening means I’m a week late in announcing our Bradley June winners - sorry about that. The following eventually received their awards: Senior Men - Hassan Hameed Senior Women - Iqra Khan Junior Boys - Mohammed Usman Junior Girls - Deetya Padala Non-Players Award - Carl Lewis Many congratulations to each. Tony Richardson
Bradley & Co May Awards
After a delayed start to the season due to the awful weather, we managed to get some cricket in May where thankfully waders were not required. A mixed bag of results, but notably our 1st X1 progressing well in Cup Games especially in the National Cup with wins over North Middlesex and Crouch End, and they will now travel to Peterborough Town in the next round on Sunday 16th June. I must mention our 2nd X1, affectionately known as the Super 2s, having played 4 matches winning all 4 and sit top of the Essex 2nd X1 Premier League.
But for all of us at Bradley & Co. the highlight of the Month was presenting our Awards for individual performances. A mention to our Senior Men’s winner, which went to Rajesh Rajesh for regularly scoring runs and achieving his maiden century for the 5th X1. Also a special note for Dave Ramdial who won our Non Playing Award for services to the Club.  Having spent years as a player, he now spends hours along with others coaching our juniors, ultimately reflecting on the high standards set for our promising future senior players.
Best wishes All
