Match report First Game for the Under 14s and the sunshine on the day seem to filter into the boys who were ready to start the season well. And they did not disappoint against a Stoke Newington side on their home pitch in the depths of Hackney Marshes.

We lost the toss and started in the field. Although the sun was shining, the hands were cold and a few catches went begging. The bowlers all did well with only two batsmen managing double figures setting a target of 84 to win.

Mohammed and Rowan both took 3 wickets each and Inqui helped with two in one over

We lost two wickets in the the first three overs but then never looked back. Nick Arnold and Rahib Hoque retired on 21 each and contributions from Finlay Chesney-Brown (15) and Inqui Chowdhury (10) finished the job.

Well done to all the boys, fielding was good, bowling was great and batting was assured.

A special thanks to Mohammed Ahmed and Zain Piracha for stepping in for the team at the last minute. Zain put more on line and had to retire after almost holding on to a bullet of a shot.
