> Wanstead won the toss and elected to field on a fast and uneven pitch. After a bright start with Trariq Jan and Michael McArdle applying early pressure, McArdle took the early wicket. Despite the pressure Old Parks managed to crack-on with a solid 2nd wicket partnership partly due to some missed opportunities in the field, with 3 dropped catches from Wanstead. The partnership was broken but only after one of the Old Parks batsmen took a ball off McArdle which rose sharply short of a length brushing glove before hitting the unfortunate batsman on the fore head, forcing him to retire hurt.....the consequences of not wearing a helmet were clear. Wanstead's persistence finally prevailed with Mazham Ali and Saeed Mukhtar both picking up two wickets after solid spells from Matloob Piracha and Chris Ley. However Old Parks managed to declare on a strong score of 233 off 48 overs.
> After the tea break Wanstead lost 3 cheap, early wickets, but then thankfully Ramon Chesney, who top scored with 34, accompanied
> by Matloob Piracha and Tariq Jan steadied the ship with great partnerships. After these three were dismissed it was up to Mazham Ali and the injured Zaki Harris to help the youngsters Michael McArdle, Oliver Arnold and Brandon Lord to hold out for the draw. This was achieved despite the loss of the 9th wicket with one ball of the final over left, which Bandon Lord safely negotiated.
