Wanstead and Horndon came together in a close encounter which saw Wanstead narrowly miss out on overtaking Horndon in the table. Wanstead got off to a positive start, which was due to some wayward bowling by the one of the Horndon openers. Wanstead then lost consecutive wickets, which lifted Horndon's spirit. Wanstead re-asserted their dominance with the Iqbal brothers putting on an aggressive partnership which shifted the advantage towards Wanstead. Once they departed nobody was able to really take the game away from Horndon and Wanstead finished 187 all out.

Horndon in pursuit of the total, got off to a good start with fifty on the board before Matloob Piracha made the vital breakthrough. Abdullah Akbar and Sifth Ali strangled the flow of runs with tight yet teasing bowling. The pressure prevailed with Abdullah taking the next wicket. Wanstead had a nightmare early on in the field with four catches dropped.
Wanstead then seized back the initiative with Alkesh Solanki picking up three wickets. Michael McArdle also took three wickets in his second spell, with some help from Saghir Malik with some inspirational words. Saghir didn't let Michael down taking a catch at mid-on.
Unfortunately Wanstead,(and not time this season), couldn't seal the deal, not managing to pick up that final wicket despite the best efforts off the bowlers. Wanstead however picked up 10 points, consolidating their position firmly above the relegation battle.
