Match report The fines are building up for Captain America

The #1 fan (Maureen) was looking forward to this much anticipated match and the Herons did not disappoint. Stuck in, Ismail "fiddy" Dar (79) and Ali S.Zaidi (67) took Brentwood to the sword and put on 151 of 26 overs. Maximums became the norm, so much so that the spectators became restless. Matt "little Leo" Smith decided to show why Jayden is not the best footballer at the club and picked out his pass from close range but it just so happened that teh target was #1 Fan's coca-cola can, which subsequently went all over Maureen! Action replays showed that it was clearly Lionel Ritchie's (Jack's) fault for not saving the shot.

McCullum (aka Mahesh) again counter-attacked, for reasons that I am not sure he even knows(!) and scored a 39-ball 73*. Wanstead ended with 277-9.

Wanstead made early in-roads with Adam Lord looking dangerous as he settled in to a nice rhythm (14-1-55-3); perhaps the attack on his mum had riled the fast bowler! However, with no chance of winning, Brentwood shut-up shop early and headed off to Suger-Hut. The bowlers toiled away but half-chances were missed and the game petered out for a draw; not the worst result as the Herons took 11 points to Brentwood's 5.
