The Super Twos welcomed table topping Brentwood to Overton Drive with 3 points splitting the two teams. Brentwood won the toss and chose to bat.

Wanstead's bowling was tested by a strong Brentwood batting unit that reached 58 for 1 off 12 overs when the pairing of Adam Lord and Richard Parker pulled momentum back for the Herons, restricting B'wood to 80 for 4 of 22 overs. Brentwood showed their title credentials and fought back with a string of partnerships but tight bowling from John O'Sheen and Nabz (18 overs - 81 runs - 4.5 rr - 2 wickets) restricted the visitors to 188 of 45 overs. But given the deteriorating pitch, with Brentwood possessing three quality, experienced spinners, this was going to take some chasing!!

In reply wanstead's top five were shot down for 60. The response from Jack "Suffolk" Lord and Nabeel Aziz aka 'The People's Champ' was sublime. Batting to the situation perfectly they put on 81 runs for the sixth wicket taking the team to 141 with Suffolk falling just short of his fifty (48 of 49 balls). Nabeel continued his steady approach and was joined by Mahesh 'Farah' who turned 1's into 2's & 2's into 3's...crucial given the stage of the game. Some impressive striking by him and Adam Lord who smoked a quick fire 16 took the herons over the line with six balls to spare....a truly remarkable match!
