Match report Wanstead won the toss and elected bat despite the gloomy conditions overhead. Wanstead lost early wickets leaving them in a heap, on about 30 runs for 4 wickets. Youngsters Manvir Ghakal and Michael McArdle stepped up to the plate with a steady partnership of 75+ which took Wanstead In sight of a competive total. After Michael was dismissed for 41, Sifth Ali came in adding a powerful 26 increasing the total. Wanstead finished on a 182 from 52 overs, mainly because of Manvir superb knock of 61.
Wanstead looked in prime position when Sifth took an early wicket and Wanstead looked hungry for more when Matloob Piracha found the outside edge on more than one occasion. Shenfield looked assured at the crease with former heron Duncan Southcott reaching 50. Wanstead were unlucky with catches going just out of reach and appeals being turned down. Despite some wickets by Matloob & Abdullah Bin Liakat, after drinks it was not enough to mount the pressure onto Shenfield who reached their target with overs to spare.
