Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club 5th XI v Hainault & Clayhall on Sat 31 May 2008 at 1pm
Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club Won by seven wickets

Match report A BRILLIANT bowling and fielding performance saw the fifth XI blow Hainault and Clayhall away to make it two wins out of two at the start of their league season.
Seven different players held catches, including a stunner from Ewan Ferguson and a sharp one from Sanjay Batra at slip (or was it gully?!), as the visitors were rolled over for just 81 from 36 overs.
In reply, despite losing three early wickets, the Herons kept their cool to get over the line for a seven wicket victory and took another 18 points to their tally.
Bowling first again, this time through choice, the home side bowled tightly and restricted Hainault to singles as they scratched around for runs on a slow pitch.
Although no wickets fell, Sohaib Waqar’s five overs at the top of the innings went for just two runs and his spell and, along with the reliable Faghrie Peters (1-20), created the pressure from which Hainault never really recovered.
Khaled Ahmed continued his good form and was unlucky not to take more than one wicket while Dev Patel showed a great improvement in his line from the previous week to snare 1-6 from four overs.
The tightness in the field, which saw some excellent backing up, meant that at 47-3 from more than 20 overs the visitors would have to up the run rate.
However, the spin partnership of Adnaan Bohardien and Rehan Hassan was too much for the middle and lower order and the pair worked their way through the opposition to end with three wickets each.
Hamza Shoaib finished off their innings after keeping his cool to run out their number 10 after a moment of madness from the final two batsmen saw the Wanstead side take a rather early tea for the second week in a row.
In reply the home team looked very comfortable before Andrew Osborn, who was superb yet again behind the stumps, and top edged a pull shot and was caught and bowled for three.
Shoaib was needlessly run out (no names mentioned Dev Patel) and when Patel was bowled by a big spinning ball the side looked in a bit of trouble at 30-3.
However, as last week it was Bohardien and Ferguson who got the Herons out of trouble, and despite Ferguson doing his best to get out first ball (caught and then run out) the pair survived to see the side over the line for another good win.
