Whilst the club has now moved firmly into our Winter programe now, two legends of the club continue to get recognition for the work they do both inside and out of the game.
1st XI superstar all rounder Kishen Velani is currently undertaking his PGA Foundation degree to become a Gold Professional and was recently featured on the PGA website. You can read the briliant article here about his professional career with Essex CCC and his journey with golf (not really fair is it to be that good at two sports) but don't worry he will still be playing for the Herons!:

Next it was the turn of Arfan Akram, former 1st XI captain for 10 years who now works for the Essex CCC, the ECB and the MCC. A champion for diversity and inclusion in cricket he was recently featured in an article for Wisden to discuss his work for Essex CCC. If that wasn't enough Arfan has just managed an MCC Tour to Kenya which was a resounding success and even pipped a certain Mike Gatting for the role such are his credentials...
