Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club Sunday XI squad

Sunday XI

Captain : Andrew Osborn

Andrew joined the club in 1999 as an under 11 and immediately fell in love with the club and the sport. He became a keeper that very summer only by chance as he was the only one who would do it at an interclub but always enjoyed watching Alec Stewart who was England captain at the time.
This is Andrew's 8th season as a player and his 4th season as an adult player. In the summer of 2004 Andrew's best performance with the gloves came with 6 dismissals in the same game that Len got 8/8!

Andrew has 10 career fifties and 1 hundred for the 5th XI and that hundred came against arch rivals Ilford in august 2006

Vice Captain : Joe Palmer Jnr

Terrific batsman and demon leg-spin bowler. An attractive batsman with expert technique capable of building legendary innings. His leg spin is dangerous (not just to the wicket-keeper and close in fielders) with a whole armery of deliveries including full toss and long-hops. Has also been compared to Shane Warne although he is adament that he is better because Shane Warne has yet to master the full toss delivery.
