Adnan Akram finds right-handed batting too easy    26 November

Captain Inspiration Joseph Palmer won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision was made after close inspection of the ball and he was fully confident that it would reverse swing in the second innings.

Arfan Akram (3) didn't trouble the scorers much, however captain Joseph Palmer Jnr alongside the hard hitting Merv Westfield helped Herons to a solid start, both getting retired within the first 5 overs. They were soon followed into the hut by the latest member of JUBS TFC, Kishen Velani (an email from Kishen's father earlier today allowed JUBS TFC to announce Kish as their latest signing, this comes as great relief as members of Zero CC (aka Hero CC) and Brown Sugar CC tried broadcasting rumours stating otherwise).

Adnan Akram (36*) was joined by Zain Shahzad (10) who got out in his regular fashion - yes you  guessed it, run out! This enabled skipper JP to return to the crease and he was retired once again, scoring 51*.  Merv also came back, ending on 32 before he was run out.  Kish followed the pattern, coming back and ending on 40*.

The real highlight of the day was from Hero Adnan Akram, A KEVIN PIETERSEN LIKE SWITCH HIT FOR 6 from the last ball of the innings!!  Sadly he let himself down by putting the bat on the floor and running towards team leader JP and hugging him. Wanstead ended on a mammoth 193 for 3.

The bowling started slowly with Network AK Stars accumulating 33 for 0 after two overs.  The middle overs brought wickets but also more runs with Kishen, Merv and Adnan taking one a piece.  A run out followed by a good spell from Zain (taking two wickets) helped the Herons to restrict Network AK Stars to 136 all out.  Arfan, after last week's dreadful performance, took 2 catches. However, his underperformance with the bat means his place is most definitely under treat.  The Herons won by 57 runs and have now won 5 out of 5.
