National Finals: Here We Come
Wanstead U13 girls entertained Bushy Park in the regional finalround of the Lady Taverners T20 8-a-side tournament at Overton Drive on Saturday 11 July.
Put in to bat, the girls scored 178 for 2, with a brilliantcontribution from Annali Olivelle who came in at number 3 and finished on 70*.
In Bushy Park's reply Bethany Chambers bowled superbly, taking 2 wickets as well as 2 catches. Annali, Sanjana, Nafeesa, and Rehnuma were splendid support bowlers, there was great 'keeping by Zara, and tight fielding from the entire team, all of which combined to restrict the Park to just 51.
This comfortable win, the biggest game so far in the history of Wanstead girls, means that they will not be daunted by the challenge of the National Final at Grantham Cricket Club of 30 July.
