Match report The 6th eleven played out an exciting match at Chelmsford where they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat when all looked lost. Three wickets in 6 balls as Chelmsford homed in on victory turned the match on its head and saw Wanstead home as deserved winners by 15 runs. At last Danny Mead joined the party which Barney Mead and Joel Morris Ley had started three weeks ago, scoring 51. Barney Mead continued his scoring run with an assured 54, and Micky Callow weighed in with an excellent 40. Wanstead's total was pushed to a competitve 227 by a quickfire 20 by Krishen Ondhia in the closing stages. Chelmsford started poorly due to an excellent opening spell from Joel, recovered in their middle order to get to within 15 of our total but then 2 wickets in 2 balls by Barney followed by Joel taking out Chelmsford's top scorer sent the 6ths into ecstatics.
