Match report Well this was a massive game as Chelmsford were strong contenders to win the group. This was our first home game at Nutter Lane and it was a bit of an experience. At the same time, there was another big match being played at Overton Drive, the national cup.

Once again, we won the toss and elected to field. Everyone wanted to win this game badly, and boy did this show.
In the first over of the game Steven got rid of the opposition’s captain for 0, it was a great catch at first slip by Marlon. From that bowl, we set high standards and we never let them slip. Steven and Max both bowled well taking 5 wickets between them. Leaif bowled well on his return to the side by taking 2 wickets, Alex bowled a good spell taking 1 wicket. A rare opportunity popped up for Mahesh to bowl and he didn’t disappoint taking 2 wickets in 1 over. We bowled out the champions two years ago out for just 45 this was a great effort.
In reply, we started well Andrew hitting a 6 on the second ball of our innings. We had a solid opening stand of 30, and then Andrew was caught and bowled by the opposition’s skipper. Steven soon followed being caught, which brought Mahesh in with Richard. Richard showed great maturity, while at the other end Velani played a rash shot and got stumped; Tom was also caught in the same over. That brought Alex Tosh in; he hit 2 fours on consecutive balls to win us the game.
Two wins from two games put us in a strong position to reach the later stages of the competition.
